As mentioned before there are alot of bad side effects with any medications, as well as good side effects, but for now we will talk about the bad side effects. For the first example there is the prescription drug Ambien. Ambien is a seditive that is taken for sleep problems such as insomnia. Ambien will cause relaxation so that you fall asleep, but you have to sleep for 7 to 8 hours if not something serious may occur.
If you do not get the full amount of sleep that is recomended then the drug may still affect you, you should not go drive or operate heavy machinery if you have not slept for a full 7-8 hours, but what about the bad side effects. One side effect is the user driving, making phone calls, or eating, later on the person had not remembered doing any of these activites. Another bad side effect of the drug included a severe allergic reation, why would you risk your life to take something that helps you fall asleep, yes sleep is important but is it really that important.
Lipitor is another common prescription medicine, this is a medicine that is used to lower a persons cholesterol. That sounds good your cholesterol can be lowered and why would that be bad, but what about the side effects? Lipitor can cause a breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue (does this not sound bad?), and this may lead to kidney failure. It also states that you should call your doctor if you experince muscle weakeness, tenderness, or pain, and if you have fever/flu like symportoms or if your urnie is dark colored. Does anything from that sound good? Would you really want any of that to happen to you, yes your cholesteral would be lowered but what about other ways. You can try to lower your cholesterol by getting a good amount of exersize and try to stay away from foods that have a lot of fat in them.
Next I will use Vicodin as another example, vicodin is used to treat pain that is anywhere from moderate to mild. What really is not too clearly stated is that you should not take it if your have liver cirrhoisis or if you drink 3 or more drinks a day. If you take the drug while drinking 3 or more drinks a day the consequenses may be severe. It is also said that you must becareful if you drive or do something where you need to be alert and awake, this is due to the drug possibly impairing how you think. This may not sound too severe but it really is. It is also a habit-forming drug, do you really want that to happen to you? Do you want to become hooked on a drug that will give you a type of high? This will possibly ruin your life and life to others around you.
Do you really want any of these side effects to happen to you? I know that the chance of some of these happening is not too high but is it really worth it? Some of these side effects may be mild while others are severe so why risk it? Do you really want to take the easier way out of something like getting lower cholesteral even if the side effects of the drug can hurt you? It may take alittle more work to do something such as watching what you eat or getting a litlle more exersize but it might be a better option to take.

Truely, I have no idea why someone would want to take medications that would do more harm to someone than they would help someone. I think if you play it smart and talk to your doctor first about your physical or mental problems, before you take a medication that may do harm to your body. That is just ridicolous that someone would take a medication that has horrible side-effects that could harm your body badly. You might just have to live with the problems that you have and live the rest of your life with them, rather then death or a horrible side effect from a medication.
I never knew that taking perscription drugs required certain amounts of sleep. I have taken many different prescription drugs for various things and i am glad i now know this info so i can apply it in the future. Good article.
After reading this extremely long post i think you should have brokwn it up so it was much easier to follow. With that being said i did like the time and effort that you put in to find such a serious topic.
I like how you mention each drug for a certain topic and explained that drug in depth. I really think the sleeping does not wear off drugs, it all takes time for the blood to absorb it. Side effects are dangerous if you don't understand them. Well Educated post here and was interesting reading, great post.
It is hard to believe that they would take medications and get these bad side effects but i can now see that if they truely need it for something, then it may be needed.
Ya I agree I say the way to work it out is by letting nature run its course unless your in grave danger. No one needs a drug to cure the sniffles when it can blinnd you.
i dont think that sleep makes the drugs wear off but i do agree that they have many dangerous side effects
After reading your blogs i learned alot of information that i didn't know much about your blogs were very good!
